Tears of Sorrow: Forgotten or Abandoned

He looked at me with bloodshot eyes. It looked like as if he had been crying. He told me as soon as he saw me in a deep voice, “We will be flying back this afternoon.” His voice was mellow but was filled with sorrow. I could tell that he was trying very hard to stop his tears. He was visiting from another state with his wife to see his dying mother. His mother, Ms G.S., was my patient for the past 1 year. She was 73  years old and had been in the nursing home for the last 4 years. She had a longstanding history of bipolar disorder and psychosis for which she had multiple admissions to various psychiatric facilities since her admission to the facility.
