Mayo Clinic begins shift to $1.5B digital records system
Mayo Clinic has started moving millions of patient records to a single electronic health records database — a $1.5 billion effort that the Rochester, Minnesota-based health system began in 2015.
The Post-Bulletin reports on the switch, which began last weekend with the migration of a relatively small portion of the Mayo Clinic's operations: Mayo Clinic Health System sites in Wisconsin cities La Cross e, Onalaska and Sparta that handle about 200,000 patient records.
