Secretary Price Appoints Brenda Fitzgerald, M.D., as CDC Director and ATSDR Administrator

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Tom Price, M.D., announced that Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald had been named as the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR). Dr. Fitzgerald has been the commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Health and state health officer for the past six years.
