Influence of environmental enrichment on the behavior and physiology of mice infected by Trypanosoma cruzi

CONCLUSIONS: Positive behavioral and physiological effects of environmental enrichment were observed in mice living in enriched cages. Thus, environmental enrichment improved the welfare of these animals.

This study involved spontaneous ICH patients of two cohorts who underwent baseline CT scan within 6  h after ICH onset and follow-up CT scan within 24 h after initial CT scan. We determined the critical value of the minimal CT attenuation value via retrospective analysis of the data from a derivation cohort. Then, a prospective study on the validation cohort of three clinical centers was perform ed for determining the association between the minimal CT attenuation value and hematoma expansion as well as poor outcome (modified Rankin Scale scores >  3) at 90 days by using univariate and multi...

Conclusion: Great accuracy was reached even in advanced cases with prior bone augmentation and complex traumas. This leads to the conclusion that particularly in advanced cases, computer-guided implantation can be beneficial.

CONCLUSIONS: Although MRI is crucial for evaluating lumbar spinal stenosis, it cannot replace but is rather complementary to a good patient history and clinical examination or the results of local diagnostic injections. PMID: 31743983 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Authors: Lommatzsch A Abstract OCTA expands the spectrum of multimodal retinal imaging as a non-invasive procedure. Subtraction analysis of two temporally dense and identical B-scan images only show changes corresponding to the flow in the blood vessels. Freely selectable segmentation visualization of different layers of the retina, RPE, choriocapillars and choroid. By means of manufacturer-specific quantification options and 3-D representation changes in findings under a therapy can be well represented. At present, OCTA is still bound to a corresponding B-scan. The OCTA is currently not a substitute for the conven...

ShuklaAbstractAl2O3 nanoparticles volume fraction (Vf) effect on mechanical/microstructural characteristics of AA6061-T6 based friction stir welded samples were investigated. Scanning electron microscopy equipped with electron backscattered diffraction was employed to evaluate the microstructures, grains evolution, and fractured characteristics of weldments. Results reveal that the uniform distribution of nanoparticles in the nugget zone was achieved at 0.3Vf of RPs than 0.2Vf and 0.4Vf. Increme...

Oliveira, Fernando RochaAbstractSynthesis of hydroxyapatite (HAp) and sericin (SS) nanocomposites was carried out by a simple precipitation method performed in batch in a stirred tank reactor (ST). The reaction was achieved by mixing a solution of calcium chloride dihydrate, in which SS was dissolved, with a solution of disodium hydrogen phosphate at 37 °C. Three experimental conditions were studied by varying the concentration of SS: HAp, HAp/SS1 (0.01 ...

Sriman NarayananAbstractA novel poly o-cresophthalein complexone film (POCF) modified electrode was fabricated and used as a sensor for the simultaneous detection of adenine and guanine. By comparing with the bare paraffin wax impregnated graphite electrode (PIGE), POCF modified electrode showed remarkable increase in the oxidation peak currents of adenine and guanine. The surface morphology of the POC polymer film and its nature on the PIGE were characterized by field emission scanning electron micro...

However, full vitrification of BMGs with high saturation magnetization above 1.2 T has never been realized because cooling rates are limited and compositional inhomogene...
