Conclusions The deep and detailed knowledge of the anatomy of the pudendal nerve and its variations is essential for the realization of Regional Anesthesia techniques guided by images. These promising techniques should continue to be evaluated with clinical studies.

We describe a case of posttraumatic chronic intercostal neuralgia, in which successful pain relief was achieved via repeated injections of local anesthetic and steroid combinations in the serratus anterior plane under ultrasonographic guidance. This novel technique is easy to administer, reliable, and warrants further investigation with regard to its use for rehabilitation of patients who are experiencing posttraumatic chronic neuropathies of the chest wall.

Conclusions Ultrasound is a useful tool to monitor the formation of ice ball during a cryoneurolysis freezing cycle. Power Doppler appears as the only option to monitor the ice ball with low-frequency transducers. This novel finding may be useful in cases of lumbar medial branch cryoneurolysis, an application we plan to assess in a future pilot prospective study.
