A Rarissime Case of Abnormally Appearing Appendix
Question: A 68-year-old woman presented for screening colonoscopy. She stated no fever or chills and denied any pain, including abdominal pain, overt gastrointestinal bleeding, or change in bowel habits. The patient did not have chronic medical conditions and took no medications. Her weight had remained stable over the last several years with a diet limited in carbohydrates and moderately strenuous exercise. Her family history was negative for any cancer, including colon cancer, or inflammatory bowel disease.
