15-year Columbus health commissioner to retire

Columbus Health Commissioner Dr. Teresa Long plans to retire at the end of the year after three decades with the agency, leading it for the last 15 years. Long championed efforts to combat HIV/AIDs, tobacco use, a flu epidemic and infant mortality. She is the first woman to lead Columbus Public Health, and before that was a medical director and assistant commissioner from 1986 to 2002.
