Ocena rekonstytucji immunologicznej w kontek ście podejmowania decyzji o wznowieniu szczepień ochronnych u dzieci i młodych dorosłych po przeszczepieniu komórek krwiotwórczych: analiza codziennej praktyki klinicznej

Conclusions Immunological reconstitution analysis after HSCT was delayed in 81.5% of patients. In order to improve the effectiveness of the post-HSCT vaccination program, it seems appropriate to accelerate the first immunological evaluation and to differentiate the recommendations according to the type of transplantation and post-HSCT therapy, i.e. 3−6 months after auto-HSCT or last phase of oncological treatment and 6-12 months after allo-HSCT.

Conclusions: Even with host B cells, reconstitution with donor T cells can be sufficient to allow over four decades of survival when B-cell function is intact. Our case demonstrates that satisfactory B-cell function can arise as a consequence of both intact IL-21 signaling due to a hypomorphic γc variant, and close HLA matching with the donor to allow for effective T-cell help.

CONCLUSIONSWe confirm that seroprotection for vaccine-preventable disease is affected by treatment for pediatric malignancy. A single booster dose of vaccine might be a practical way to restore vaccine immunity in patients after chemotherapy.

In conclusion, taller body height at the entry to adulthood, supposed to be a marker of early-life environment, is associated with lower risk of dementia diagnosis later in life. The association persisted when adjusted for educational level and intelligence test scores in young adulthood, suggesting that height is not just acting as an indicator of cognitive reserve. This article describes the studies that have been conducted to date and emphasises that mortality after stem cell transplant (not attributed to CMV end-organ disease) has recently become the first proven indirect effect of CMV now that letermovir has significantly reduced non-relapse deaths. The implications for CMV vaccines are then discussed. Vaccines are already predicted to be highly cost-effective if they can reduce CMV end-organ disease. Health planners should now consider that cost effectiveness is likely to be enhanced further through reduction of the indirect effects of CMV. A prototype scheme for assessing this po...

RARITAN, NJ, February 10, 2020 – The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson &Johnson announced today the submission of a supplemental Biologics License Application (sBLA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seeking approval of DARZALEX® (daratumumab) in combination with Kyprolis® (carfilzomib) and dexamethasone (DKd) for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma. The sBLA is supported by results from the Phase 3 CANDOR study, which compared treatment with DKd to carfilzomib and dexamethasone (Kd) in patients with multiple myeloma who relapsed after one to three prior lines of therapy. “Wh...
