Summertime Thoughts

Happy summer, everyone. I am writing this after recently returning from the National Kidney Foundation Spring Clinical meeting which was held in Orlando this past April. At this meeting, I was privileged to meet many wonderful dietitians from throughout the world. The work these dietitians do is inspiring, and a large number of them shared their stories of volunteering on behalf of improving the lives of people with chronic kidney disease. Our Kopple Award winner, Tilakavati Karupaiah, PhD, spoke of her work starting a program to educate dietitians in Malaysia on renal nutrition.
