[Correspondence] Exposure to lead in petrol and increased incidence of dementia

We read with great interest the Article by Hong Chen and colleagues (Feb 18, p 718)1 on living near major roads and the incidence of dementia, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis. We hypothesise that the link found between residential proximity to major roads and dementia incidence might be partly due to a more distal risk factor, past exposure to leaded petrol.
