Money in America: CEO pay beats out surgeons in North Texas

The board room edges out the operating room as the natural habitat of the profession that collects the biggest paycheck in Dallas-Fort Worth, bucking a national trend in which surgeons earn more than CEOs. DFW chief executives rank first and surgeons come in second in North Texas pay, followed by dentists, computer and information systems managers, and lawyers, according to an American City Business Journal study of 2016 salaries.
