The Use of 223Radium Dichloride for Bone Metastasis Treatment in Hormone Refractory Breast Cancer

Conclusion: As 223Radium Dichloride has shown to be an effective treatment in castration-resistant prostate cancer, it has also demonstrated to be efficient in treatment against some bone metastasis caused by hormone refractory breast cancer. However, not all metastasis responded to the 223Radium Dichloride treatment, additional research is needed to determine the long-term effects of this treatment plan and to discover if additional 223Radium Dichloride therapy will continue to decrease bone metastasis in both size and uptake.
