5T4 oncofoetal glycoprotein: an old target for a novel prostate cancer immunotherapy.
5T4 oncofoetal glycoprotein: an old target for a novel prostate cancer immunotherapy. Oncotarget. 2017 May 07;: Authors: Cappuccini F, Pollock E, Stribbling S, Hill AVS, Redchenko I Abstract The tumour-associated antigen 5T4 is an attractive target for cancer immunotherapy. However to date, reported 5T4-specific cellular immune responses induced by various immunisation platforms have been largely weak or non-existent. In the present study, we have evaluated a heterologous prime boost regime based on the simian adenovirus ChAdOx1 and modified vaccinia virus Ankara (MVA) expressing 5T4 for immunogenicity and tumour protective efficacy in a mouse cancer model. Vaccination-induced immune responses were strong, durable and attributable primarily to CD8+ T cells. By comparison, homologous MVA vaccination regimen did not induce detectable 5T4-specific T cell responses. ChAdOx1-MVA vaccinated mice were completely protected against subsequent B16 melanoma challenge, but in therapeutic settings this regime was only modestly effective in delaying tumour outgrowth. Concomitant delivery of the vaccine with monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting immune checkpoint regulators LAG-3, PD-1 or PD-L1 demonstrated that the combination of vaccine with anti PD-1 mAb could significantly delay tumour growth and increase overall survival of tumour-bearing mice. Our findings support a translation of the combinatorial approach based on the heterologous ChAdOx1-MVA vaccination platfo...
CONCLUSION: prompt diagnosis, through fundus examination and FA, and proper antiviral therapy were the mainstays to counteract the posterior uveitis. Nowadays, vaccination is a safe weapon to efficaciously reduce the ZVZ incidence among general population. PMID: 32644840 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
CONCLUSION: Ophthalmologists play an important role in a hospital-wide toxicity team and need to include IRAEs in their differential diagnosis. Given new drug development, ophthalmologists may be the first to identify IRAEs. PMID: 32643982 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
Authors: Rocco D, Gregorc V, Della Gravara L, Lazzari C, Palazzolo G, Gridelli C Abstract INTRODUCTION: The development of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) has represented a revolution in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and has established a new standard of care for different settings. However, through adaptive changes, cancer cells can develop resistance mechanisms to these drugs, hence the necessity for novel immunotherapeutic agents. AREAS COVERED: This paper explores the immunotherapeutics currently under investigation in phase I clinical trials for the treatment of NSCLC as monotherap...
In this report, a total of 860 publications related to TRPM7 were analyzed. Biophysical Journal ranked top for publishing 31 papers. The United States of America had the largest number of publications (320) with a high citation frequency (11,298) and H-index (58). Chubanov V (38 publications) and Gudermann T (38 citations), who from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, were the most productive authors and had the greatest co-citation counts. Our study also combined the bibliometric study with a systematic review on TRPM7, highlighting the four research frontiers of TRPM7. This is the first study that demonstrated the tr...
The classes below are what I am planning to take this fall. My cGPA is 3.62 and my sGPA is 3.4. Organic chemistry 1- 3 Biology of cancer- 2 Environmental physiology- 3 Principles of exercise training- 3 I am thinking of taking a biology course rather than the exercise training class. Should I be focused on taking science courses?

CONCLUSIONS: Financial and cultural issues were important hindrances to breast cancer screening in African American women. These findings highlight the importance of affordable health care for preventive health services as well as the relevance of culturally embedded issues to health, while the MQS accentuates the need for more rigorous research articles. Breast cancer screening interventions in this population should attend to barriers identified in this review. PMID: 32641257 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
