[Clinical Picture] Noma in a patient with HIV
A 43-year-old German-born white man presented to our local emergency department in London, UK, in February, 2011, with a 3-month history of progressive facial soft-tissue destruction. He worked as a pastry chef and had previously been employed on cruise ships. He had no clinically significant medical history, including no previous diagnosis of HIV infection.
