HMSA reports $25M Q1 gain absent ACA fees
Citing a decrease in administrative expenses and a temporary “reprieve” from the fees and taxes associated with the Affordable Care Act, the Hawaii Medical Service Association reported a gain of $25 million in the first quarter, compared to a loss of $30.4 million during the same quarter in 2016.
