Simple Pre and Post Hysterectomy Recovery Hints & Tips

We get many emails from women sharing various hysterectomy recovery hints and tips that have worked for them over the years. I thought it would be helpful to begin a brand new series of posts that contain very simple pre and post hysterectomy recovery hints and tips. The sorts of information you’ll find here will be the little things you can do quickly, easily and either free or at low cost as we all know that taking time off work can cause some financial discomfort. The first 3 tips come from Debbie who says: I hardly ate much in the days leading up to my surgery.  This helped because it made the bowel prep much easier and did not lead to any of that painful burning people talk about. I started drinking water as soon as I was allowed to drink and I drank it all day and night. The RN said that my urine was clear less than 24 hours after surgery. The most helpful thing that worked for me but isn’t for everyone, is that I used the Morphine for only a few doses and  instead, got put on 600 ml of Motrin which made me feel much better.  I was able to leave the hospital after only two nights and that is after undergoing a total abdominal hysterectomy and removal of my ovaries. Please remember though, not every hint and tip is right for every woman and if you are at all unsure seek your GP’s advice before using them. *************************************************************** Now available on our online store and all other online book store’s.
