Refractory ventricular tachycardia caused by inflow cannula mechanical injury in a patient with left ventricular assist device: Catheter ablation and pathological findings

We report on a case of a successfully ablated mechanical VT. After VT recurrence, heart transplantation took place. Pathologic observations were consistent with direct tissue injury and inflammation, eventually contributing to persisting arrhythmias. Radiofrequency catheter ablation can be a safe and effective option to treat arrhythmias caused by inflow cannula interference in the short term, although a high recurrence rate is expected.

ConclusionsThis study reports a high incidence of FVP in patients with Danon disease and preexcitation. It underscores an alternate etiology of preexcitation in this population which can potentially be diagnosed without invasive EPS testing. AbstractOur aim was to describe the clinical profile of patients presenting sustained ventricular arrhythmias after sacubitril/valsartan (SV) initiation. CONCLUSIONS: These results demonstrate that patients with LMNA-related cardiomyopathy are characterized by VTs refractory to RFCA probably because of the deep intramural focus at the basal ventricular septum, resulting in poor prognosis with progressive severe heart failure despite all available optimized therapies.
