Uptake of the new shingles vaccine

The programme offers routine vaccination for those aged 70 years, and a catch up campaign, which for the first year of the programme was targeted at 79 year olds. In the first 8 months since the introduction of this programme, 54.8% of 70 year olds and 53.1% of 79 year olds have been vaccinated. This is an increase of 8.2% for the 70 year olds and 7.6% for the 79 year olds when compared to the previously published preliminary data up to the end of January 2014. More ....
