Reproductive endocrinology: Potential new therapy for hot flushes

Hormone-replacement therapy (HRT) can effectively treat menopausal hot flushes, but is contraindicated in many women. A new study has now demonstrated that a neurokinin 3 receptor (NK3R) antagonist reduces the incidence and severity of hot flushes, and should be safe for use in most women.
