HealthSouth starts work on new Shelby County hospital

HealthSouth Corp. has started work on its long-awaited hospital in Shelby County. The Birmingham-based company, which is building a new headquarters in Liberty Park, broke ground earlier this week on its 34-bed hospital at 900 Oak Mountain Commons Lane in Pelham. The 44,230-square-foot, freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital will include 34 private patient rooms, a spa cious therapy gym, courtyard, dining room and dayroom areas.
