: Herpes simplex virus (HSV) encephalitis presenting as spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) (P5.050)
Conclusions:This case highlights the importance of revisiting a presumed established diagnosis as a patient’s clinical course evolves. While petechial hemorrhages are commonly described in HSV encephalitis, significant hematoma as in this case is unusual as was the lack of prodromal symptoms.Disclosure: Dr. Sivasankar has nothing to disclose.
