Neuroimaging Characteristics of Intracranial Hemorrhages and Microhemorrhages in Infective Endocarditis (P2.274)

Conclusions:Intracranial macro- or micro-hemorrhages are seen in 73 (63%) persons with IE. The mortality of intracranial hemorrhage is high but the perioperative stroke risk appears low.Disclosure: Dr. Cho has nothing to disclose. Dr. Marquardt has nothing to disclose. Discussion The aortic valve usually has 3 leaflets. In bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) there are 2 asymmetric leaflets with a fish-mouthed orifice between them which may not open fully. It occurs in about 0.5-2% of the population making it one of the most common congenital heart anomalies and the most common one in adults. Transmission is autosomal dominant yet males are more likely to have BAV, indicating potential reduced penetrance in females. “BAVs are different, however, in that the tissue pathology is not limited to the valves’ leaflets but extends from the left ventricular outflow tract to the ascending thor...

ConclusionsCMR is a key tool for diagnosing LDAC. Characteristic findings are subepicardial fatty infiltration and midwall-subepicardial late gadolinium enhancement. The prognosis of this population is poor with a high incidence of sudden cardiac death and ventricular arrhythmias.

CONCLUSION: Dialysis was not an inhibitory factor affecting outcomes during subacute rehabilitation in patients with stroke. Rehabilitation should be considered for patients with subacute stroke requiring haemodialysis, in order to provide every opportunity to achieve adequate functional outcomes. Fiebach, Matthias Endres, Ute A. Kopp, Karl Georg HaeuslerAbstractAtrial fibrillation (AF) is associated with cognitive decline and dementia irrespective of AF-related ischemic stroke. We investigated whether AF burden after ablation in patients with symptomatic paroxysmal AF has an impact on cognitive function. After enrolment to the prospective MACPAF study, study patients received an insertable loop recorder (ILR) and underwent serial neurologic...

We intended to explore whether serum omentin-1 could be a promising prognostic biomarker for acute intracerebral hemorrhage.MethodsA total of 104 consecutive patients with hemorrhagic stroke underwent 90-day follow-up. The modified Rankin scale score> 2 was evaluated as worse prognosis. A multivariable logistic ...

Rotated principal component analysis identified five significant components in honey: three related to antibacterial activity a...

CONCLUSION: This paper provides a new hybrid GSA-RDF classifier technique to segment the ischemic stroke lesions in MR images. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed technique has the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), and Mean Bias Error (MBE) ranges are 16.5485 %, 7.2654 %, and 2.4585 %individually. The proposed RDF-GSA algorithm has better precision and execution when compared with the existing ischemic stroke segmentation method. PMID: 31975663 [PubMed - in process]
