Reduced kidney function associated with higher risk of renal and urothelial cancer

(University of Utah Health Sciences) Researchers who investigated the level of kidney function and subsequent cancer risk in more than one million adults have found that reduced glomerular filtration rate -- a key measure of reduced kidney function and chronic kidney disease -- is an independent risk factor for renal and urothelial cancer but not other cancer types.
