Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a major cause of mortality across the world. According to WHO, COPD is a serious lung ailment that is marked by a persistent blockage of airflow from the lungs [1]. Global initiative for chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) defines COPD as a state of disease that is characterized by limited airflow and is not fully reversible [2]. COPD is not curable, but treatment can slow the progress of the disease. Obstruction in air flow is due to two main conditions: Emphysema and Chronic Bronchitis.
