Birth Weight for Gestational Age and PCOS in Adolescents: A Case Control Study
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine condition in women and is often recognized during adolescence. The burden of PCOS is substantial, including risk of infertility, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, and endometrial cancer. PCOS has been variably linked with neonates who are both small for gestational age (SGA) and large for gestational age (LGA).
