Experiences participating in a community-based exercise programme from the perspective of people living with HIV: a qualitative study
Conclusions CBEPs provide an opportunity to enhance physical activity, perceived health outcomes and knowledge about exercise for PLWH. Community-based exercise is a strategy that may be used by health providers to promote engagement in sustained physical activity for PLWH.

While a rare, often perplexing disease, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy is a treatable condition.Medscape Neurology
Authors: Ciccacci C, Latini A, Perricone C, Conigliaro P, Colafrancesco S, Ceccarelli F, Priori R, Conti F, Perricone R, Novelli G, Borgiani P Abstract Autoimmune diseases (AIDs) are complex diseases characterized by persistent or recurrent inflammation, alteration of immune response, and production of specific autoantibodies. It is known that different AIDs share several susceptibility genetic loci. Tumor necrosis factor alpha inducible protein 3 (TNFAIP3) encodes the ubiquitin-modifying enzyme A20, which downregulates inflammation by restricting NF-κB, a transcription factor that regulates expression of var...

The implementation of test-and-treat policies that recommend early initiation of ART may help curb the spread of HIV.HIV Medicine
CONCLUSIONS: Although ART scale-up was temporally associated with a decline in TB notification rates, the achieved rates of decline are below those required to achieve the End TB Targets. Additional investments in tuberculosis control should include efforts to promote earlier care seeking and ART initiation among HIV-positive persons. PMID: 31529618 [PubMed - in process]
CONCLUSIONS: A formalized step-wise approach to including pregnant women in antiretroviral drug research should become the new norm. Systematic implementation of this approach would yield more timely and higher quality pregnancy dosing, safety and efficacy data. Through more vigorous action, regulatory bodies could responsibly overcome reluctance to include pregnant women in drug trials. Funders, researchers and programme implementers need to be galvanized to progressively include pregnant women in research - the use of newer, more effective drugs in women is at stake (349). In this study, we isolated and characterized spontaneously immortalized B ‐lymphocyte (SIBC) lines from HIV‐infected patients with and without Non‐Hodgkin's Lymphoma (AIDS‐NHL). A total of 22 SIBC lines was isolated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of HIV‐infected patients with (n = 40) and without (n = 77) clinically detectable NHL, but not fr om healthy individuals (n = 34). Of these, 8 SIBC lines named HIV‐SIBC were generated from HIV‐infected patients without AIDS‐NHL (10%, 8/77), while 14 SIBCs named AIDS‐NHL‐SIBC were from 13 of the AIDS‐NHL patients (...
