Do you believe a person can have PTSD when the trauma was non-violent?

Next up, after adult ADHD, on the list of fake and phony illnesses that never even crossed my mind in residency, but which I'm starting to encounter in the private insurance worried-well world, is the phenomenon of people claiming to have or getting diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder when the alleged trauma did not involve violence. I was wondering if any of my fellow psychiatry SDNers believe in this.... Do you believe a person can have PTSD when the trauma was non-violent?
