Everyday exercises for everyday life

We know joint pain can limit your ability to live life to the full and stop you doing things that are important to you. And exercise may be one of the first things to fall off the to do list.Arthritis Research UK recently asked nearly a thousand people who've had or do have joint pain about their attitudes to doing at least 20 minutes of exercise, such as walking, stretching, running or yoga. We found that half of them (51%) said having joint pain had put them off doing exercise. This finding is worrying, as research shows keeping active is one of the best things you can do both manage and reduce the pain and stiffness which comes with joint pain.To help encourage people with joint pain to keep moving, Arthritis Research UK have launched the Everyday exercises for everyday life programme. This includes five easy-to-follow exercise videos, with one video for each of the five joints which we know to be most affected by painshouldershipskneesbackhand. Each short video has been specially designed by our experts to deliver real results and, importantly, slot very easily into most people’s daily routine. Those people who want more advice about how to use exercise to manage joint pain can also sign up for a tailored five-day plan, which will be delivered via email. This plan will give you daily advice on more everyday exercises, as well as information on diet, what other people are doing to manage their joint pain and the latest on research from Arthritis Research UK.
