Halting nearsightedness epidemic goal of UH vision scientist

(University of Houston) Funded by a $1.9 million grant from the NIH's National Eye Institute, UH College of Optometry's Earl Smith is looking at how certain aspects of indoor lighting affect eye growth and testing a new pharmaceutical agent that has shown promise in slowing the development of myopia.
