Johnson & Johnson adds to its eye health brand
Johnson& Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) completed the acquisition of Abbott Medical Optics, bringing together their capabilities with Johnson& Johnson Vision Care in Jacksonville.
The $4.325 billion all-cash acquisition announced in September included products in three areas of care: cataract surgery, laser refractive surgery and consumer eye health.
Those products will now join the Acuvue-brand contact lens business under the name Johnson& Johnson Vision. Acuvue contacts are made in Jacksonville.
