Hysteria Writing Competition Newsletter – May 2014

Welcome to the May Hysteria Writing Competition newsletter. I don’t know what your expectations are about things like entries and the amount of competition, but at the moment we’ve only a tiny number of entries so the chances of winning are extremely high indeed. You can find out more about the competition and submit an entry from the Hysteria Writing Competition mini site on the main Hysterectomy Association website. Our writer in residence, Bridget Whelan has also shared this month’s blog post with some extremely useful advice on How to Write a Short Story. For everyone that’s a bit nervous about submitting to a competition, it might be worth reviewing. And finally, one of our judges and winner of last year’s Hysteria Writing Competition, Tracy Fells, sent me this great news. “My short story ‘Household Gods’ has made the shortlist of 2014 Commonwealth Writers Short Story Prize today.” It would be great if we could all help Tracy out by sharing her nomination on our social accounts as far and wide as possible and well done Tracy. If you have some news you’d like to share with our Hysteria Writing Competition community then please do send it on over and I’ll pop it in the next newsletter too.     The post Hysteria Writing Competition Newsletter – May 2014 appeared first on Hysterectomy Association.
