Torax Medical Inc ’s pending sale to a Johnson& Johnson Inc. (NYSE: JNJ) unit is likely to pay off for several Minnesota investors.
The Shoreview-based med-tech company tapped local backers throughout its history. Mayo Clinic’s venture capital arm was among the business' earliest investors. Torax's device, a ring of magnetic beads that treats acid-reflux disease and fecal incontinence, was initially developed at Rochester, M inn.-based Mayo.
