Quality of Life of Parents of Children with Atopic Dermatitis. The influence of AD on quality of life of parents of children with AD was studied using the Family Dermatology Life Quality Index (FDLQI). Fifty children with AD were included in the study (age range 2-24 months) together with their parents. CONCLUSION: Although there is still a need for research, many parts of the contact allergy pathogenesis are now better understood. Researchers here propose that the skin is a significant source of the systemic chronic inflammation that is observed in older individuals. Radiation-induced dermatitis is a common side effect of breast radiotherapy (RT). Current methods to evaluate breast skin toxicity include clinical examination, visual inspection, and patient-reported symptoms. Physiological changes associated with radiation-induced dermatitis, such as inflammation, may also increase body-surface temperature which can be detected by thermal imaging. Quantitative thermal imaging markers were identified using supervised machine-learning to develop a predictive model for radiation dermatitis.

CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL IMPORTANCE: There has been a remarkable expansion of knowledge on Malassezia yeasts and their role in animal disease, particularly since the early 1990's. Malassezia dermatitis in dogs and cats has evolved from a disease of obscurity and controversy on its existence, to now being a routine diagnosis in general veterinary practice. Clinical signs are well recognised and diagnostic approaches are well developed.
