Two new C11-terpenes with an octahydrobenzofuran skeleton isolated from the leaves of Ficus nota

Publication date: March 2017 Source:Phytochemistry Letters, Volume 19 Author(s): Felmer S. Latayada, Mylene M. Uy, Yui Akihara, Emi Ohta, Shinji Ohta Two new C11-terpenes with an octahydrobenzofuran skeleton, designated ficusnotadiol (1) and ficusnotanone (2), have been isolated from the plant Ficus nota. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data. The absolute structure of 1 was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis. Graphical abstract
