CONCLUSIONS Our data proved that polydatin effectively alleviated testes injury after irradiation, mainly through reducing ROS and oxidative stress. Our findings suggest polydatin as a potential radioprotector for testes radiation damage. PMID: 30539937 [PubMed - in process]

Authors: Saleh R, Assaf H, Abd El Maged WM, Elsuity M, Fawzy M Abstract Objective: To investigate the effects of in vitro myo-inositol (Myo-Ins) supplementation of cryopreserved human semen on the cryo-survival rate (CSR). Methods: Semen samples were obtained from 41 infertile men. Following routine semen analysis, each sample was divided into two equal aliquots (0.5 mL each). One aliquot was treated with 1 mg of Myo-Ins dissolved in 10 µL of sperm preparation medium. The second aliquot was treated with 10 µL of the same medium (control). Both aliquots were incubated for 20 minutes prior to freezing...

CONCLUSIONS: Women can be reassured that fertility drugs do not appear to significantly increase the risk of invasive ovarian, endometrial, breast or other cancers, while achieving a pregnancy at an earlier age is a significant protective factor. PMID: 30536354 [PubMed - in process]

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine disorders in women of reproductive age. It is characterised by a combination of hyperandrogenism (either clinical or biochemical), chronic oligo/anovulation, and polycystic ovaries. It is frequently associated with insulin resistance and obesity. PCOS receives considerable attention because of its high prevalence and possible reproductive, metabolic, and cardiovascular consequences. It is the most common cause of anovulatory infertility.

ABSTRACT Introduction: We evaluated the relationship between total testicular volume (TTV) and testicular volume differential (TVD) in adolescent males with varicocele. Both low TTV and high TVD have been independently associated with higher incidences of infertility later in life, but a predictive relationship between TTV and TVD directly has yet to be described. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed a database of Tanner 5 boys ages 16-21 who presented with varicocele at a single institution between 2009 and 2017. All patients had a scrotal sonogram prior to surgical intervention. TTV and TVD were calculated ...

ConclusionEndometrial HOXA-10 gene expression in women with endometriosis is significantly down-regulated than in those without endometriosis. Endometriosis patients with infertility have significantly lower levels of endometrial HOXA-10 gene expression than endometriosis without infertility; thus decreased expression of this gene may, directly or indirectly, be related with the endometriosis-associated infertility. Severe endometriosis cases express, in their both endometrium and endometrioma tissues, significantly lower levels of HOXA-10 gene than moderate endometriosis cases.
