Insulin resistance and polycystic ovary syndrome

(Bentham Science Publishers) Insulin resistance represents a major issue for people with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), an endocrine disorder which is very common in young women, according to a new analysis of available data carried out by Dr. Paolo Moghetti, Associate Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Verona, Italy. His study reviewed information on epidemiology, pathogenesis, pathophysiology and treatment of the impaired insulin action frequently found in women with the condition.
