Prise en charge des complications de la circoncision

Conclusion Les complications de la circoncision rencontrées dans notre institution sont essentiellement les infections, les hémorragies, les fistules péniennes sans oublier les amputations. Leur prise en charge adéquate a conduit à de bons résultats, toutefois le véritable enjeu demeure la prévention par la formation à la pratique de la circoncision dans le respect des conditions d’une intervention chirurgicale. Objectives To study the anatomo-clinical aspects of circumcision complications in Louga regional hospital (Senegal), and to evaluate the treatment outcome. Patients and methods This is a retrospective and descriptive study carried out in our institution from November 2009 to November 2015. It involved 29 patients with circumcision complications requiring surgical treatment but previously untreated. Results The mean age was 7.15±3.19 years old (range 18 months and 13 years old). The majority of circumcision (n =27) was performed by a paramedic, outside an operating theater (n =28), under local anesthesia (n =28). All circumcisions were performed using the guillotine technique. Complications observed and their treatment were: glans amputations (n =3) treated by replantation (n =1) and meatoplasty (n =2); denudation (n =1) required autograft of the penile shaft excised; bleeding (n =5) was managed by the exploration of the wound and haemostasis but one of them was transferred in another center for haemophilia; infectious complications (n =9), their managem...
