Cancer network calls for safer handling of chemo drug to prevent fatal errors
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) launched a campaign in Philadelphia Thursday advocating for safe handling of a chemotherapy drug that can be deadly if administered incorrectly.
The campaign, called “Just Bag It,” encourages health care providers to adopt a policy to always dilute and administer vincristine in a mini IV-drip bag to prevent fatal medical errors.
