Calcaneal Apophysitis: Sever's Disease

Case Report: Ill defined hypointense signal in the calcaneal apophysis on T1 weighted images and hyperintesne signal on T2 weighted& STIR images. Achilles tendon is normal. These findings are indicative calacaneal apophysitis/sever's disease. Calcaneal apophysitis,also known as Sever ’s disease or avascular necrosis of calcaneal epiphysis, is a commonly encountered entity amongst athletic children and is frequently undiagnosed.
