Nurses' Call to Action: Supporting a Strong Global HIV Nursing Workforce

AIDS2016, the International AIDS Conference, was convened in July 2016 in Durban South Africa and hosted by the International AIDS Society. More than 18,000 global leaders, scientists, advocates, and frontline health workers gathered for the 21st International Conference. The conference was first held in Durban in 2001 and has been viewed as a defining moment in the history of the HIV epidemic because it marked the beginning of a global movement to bring life-saving HIV treatment to developing countries and paved the way for the creation of the Global Fund and the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
