Norton Woman Who Didn ’ t Know She Was Pregnant Gives Birth

NORTON (CBS) — A Norton woman who gave birth to a baby boy in an Attleboro hospital Sunday had no idea she was pregnant, according to a published report.
Ileana Martinez’s sister told the Sun Chronicle Ileana, 23, checked into Sturdy Memorial Hospital with what she thought was a stomach ache and severe cramping Sunday afternoon.
“I just thought it was bad gas,” her sister, Madie, told the paper.
Madie said Ileana never had any weight gain or morning sickness, never felt any movement, and had gone through a doctor’s checkup without any hint she could be pregnant.
Doctors told the sisters it is rare, but does happen.  Madie told the paper she couldn’t believe she had seen her sister every day and never knew she was pregnant.
The baby, 5-pound Jaxson St. Pierre, was reportedly healthy despite being a total surprise to his mother and having no prenatal care.
Martinez lives with Madie, 27, and Madie’s 9-year-old daughter.
But since the sisters had no warning about Jaxson’s arrival, they’re looking for donations of baby supplies, from used clothing and toys to fresh diapers and more.
