A rare case of acute posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome involving brainstem in a child

We describe here the case of a boy who presented to the emergency department for headaches and strabismus. Diagnosis of PRES was retained by magnetic resonance imaging. The causes were blood pressure urgency and renal failure. Location of lesions was very rarely reported in literature and neurological troubles were persistent. Emergency physicians should evocate PRES each time there is a clinical context associated with neurological troubles by a normal brain CT scan. Early diagnosis is very important to treat its causes and improve prognosis.

Kasak Jan Tkac The study describes development of a glycan biosensor for detection of a tumor-associated antibody. The glycan biosensor is built on an electrochemically activated/oxidized graphene screen-printed electrode (GSPE). Oxygen functionalities were subsequently applied for covalent immobilization of human serum albumin (HSA) as a natural nanoscaffold for covalent immobilization of Thomsen-nouvelle (Tn) antigen (GalNAc-O-Ser/Thr) to be fully available for affinity interaction with its analyte—a tumor-associated antibody. The step by step building process of glycan biosensor development was comprehe...

AbstractPurpose of ReviewThe purpose of this review is to provide the readers with current information and state-of-the-art of digital scanning systems within the orthodontics. Introducing the commercially available intraoral and facial scanning systems, as well as bringing future perspectives to these systems.Recent FindingsThe emergence of digital scanners associated with computer-aided design is one of today ’s key diagnostic tool enhancements in orthodontics. Among the main applications in orthodontics, it is the analysis for diagnosis, treatment planning, and prediction of the final result. There is a range of p...

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the beneficial effect of endorectal power Doppler/grayscale ultrasound-guided biopsy over that of mpMRI/TRUS-guided biopsy for decision-making regarding prostatectomy in males with a high risk of prostate cancer. Data regarding endorectal power Doppler/grayscale ultrasound-guided biopsies and mpMRI/TRUS-guided biopsies of 1,094 males with elevated specific prostate antigen, were included. Radical prostatectomy was performed in males aged

Authors: Guo L, Chen B, Zhang L, Deng Y, Li H, Shi QD Abstract A 49-year-old female patient developed chest tightness and shortness of breath without apparent cause and presented to a local hospital. Chest radiography indicated increased thickening of the lung texture, increased multiple patchy densities in the lower lobes of the bilateral lungs and a slightly enlarged thyroid. The patient was treated for pulmonary infection with antibiotics but the symptoms persisted. A repeated CT scan revealed ground-glass attenuation of the bilateral lungs with multiple flaky exudates and visible bronchogenic signs. The symptom...

Authors: Wang D, Jiang H, Pan B, Yang Q, He L, Sun H, Yu X, Lin L Abstract Objective measurement is important for diagnosing congenital or acquired auricular abnormalities and the evaluation of therapeutic efficacy. However, methods applied in the past were mostly inaccurate and unreliable. The present study aimed to introduce five standardized indices for auricle measurement and present a highly precise and reliable methodology combining three-dimensional (3D) scanning techniques and the Materialise Mimics software for the evaluation of auricle sizes. A total of 20 normal ears were measured independently by four s...
