Hand, Foot And Mouth Disease Strikes Florida State And Other Schools

An unusual outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) has struck students at Florida State University. The infection is caused by a virus and is much more commonly seen in babies and toddlers. More than 15 students are infected and ill, including members of a fraternity, causing rush events to be temporarily cancelled. Since many cases of HFMD may be asymptomatic, there are likely significantly more cases.
