EHR Adoption, Population Health a Struggle for Rural Providers
Most small, rural, and critical access hospitals are not as far along in adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) as larger facilities. The American Medical Association has pointed out that the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) has unintended consequences for rural and small practices, including administrative and reporting burden and new penalties.
