In conclusion, there was no evidence of YFV transmission in coastal southeast Brazil before the current outbreak, nor the spread or establishment of an independent sylvatic cycle of ZIKV or urban Aedes aegypti transmission of YFV in the region. ConclusionA small, preliminary COVID-19 clinical study reported complete clearance of virus after combined administration of azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine as measured by realtime PCR of nasopharyngeal swabs. No study of azithromycin alone was conducted. Despite azithromycin's reputation as an antibacterial agent, scattered reports of in vivo and in vitro antiviral activity for this drug have been reported.

We report that ZIKV noncoding RNA (sfRNA) affect expression of mosquito genes upon ZIKV infection. We constructed sfRNA-deficient ZIKV mutant (xrRNA2') and conducted transcriptome-wide gene expression profiling of mosquitos infected with WT and xrRNA2' viruses. We found that sfRNA inhibits apoptosis in the infected tissues of Ae. aegypti by altering expression of mosquito genes that control cell death and survival.
