Crown: What is a Dental Crown?

Dr. Mark Barry explains why a crown is placed over the tooth and the different materials available to dentists to cover the tooth. A crown is used to rebuild a broken or decayed tooth, strengthen teeth or to improve the cosmetic appearance of the tooth. Dr. Barry talks about when a crown is needed for a patient, the appropriate materials involved and how long a crown is expected to last.
