CONCLUSION: Men with rectal prolapse were younger, healthier, and had relatively better anorectal function than women. The Delorme-Thiersch operation in men promoted lower recurrence rates and was advantageous in preserving the fertility of young patients, but the incidence of complications was also higher in men. Adequate counseling and preparation for the possibility of complications are needed. PMID: 31726002 [PubMed]

ConclusionsThe PCV-VG mode of ventilation limited the peak inspiratory pressure, decreased the driving pressure and increased the dynamic compliance compared to VCV in obese patients undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy. PCV-VG may be a preferable modality to prevent barotrauma during laparoscopic surgeries in obese patients.

[Pelviureteric junction obstruction and crossing vessels: pro "vascular hitch"]. Aktuelle Urol. 2019 Nov 07;: Authors: Zahn K, Younsi NF, Stein R Abstract The vascular hitch procedure for pelviureteric junction obstruction caused by crossing lower-pole vessels is a controversial treatment option. Since this minimally-invasive technique has been introduced in patients with aberrant lower-pole vessels, multiple publications have reported successful short, intermediate and long-term outcomes. Success rates of > 90 % are similar to those of Anderson-Hynes pyeloplasty. In general, an ass...
