Phase 3 Study of Ibrutinib versus Chlorambucil in Patients ≥65 Years with Treatment-Naïve Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia/Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (CLL/SLL)

Alkylating agent chlorambucil has been commonly used for older patients with CLL/SLL, but novel therapies are needed. Ibrutinib, a first-in-class, once-daily inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase, is indicated by US FDA for patients with CLL/SLL and allows for treatment without chemotherapy.
