Microcystin-leucine-arginine (MC-LR) have been reported to be carcinogenic but there are no data on the linkage between MC-LR and iCCA.We used microarrays to detail the change of gene expression in iCCA cells(huh28) treated with MC-LR.

ConclusionHepatic resection was associated with a favorable impact on prognosis over chemotherapy for IC stage III and IVa of the 7th edition and for stage IIIb of 8th edition of AJCC staging system. Worse outcome has been observed in LR patients>65 years and with multifocal lesions. Randomized control studies are recommended to confirm the role of surgical resection in the management for advanced cases of IC, and to clarify the related prognostic factors.

We report a systematic review and meta-analysis to delineate the effect of AT on overall survival.MethodsEligible studies were identified from MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane and PubMed. Studies comparing adjuvant chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy after curative-intent surgery with curative surgery only for biliary tract cancer were included. Data pertaining to tumours of the gallbladder and bile ducts were included. The primary outcome assessed was overall survival. Random-effects meta-analysis was performed, as well as pooling of unadjusted Kaplan-Meier curve data.Results35 studies involving 42,917 patients were analysed. Ther...

Authors: Huang X, Li Y, Long L Abstract BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to compare the clinical, imaging, pathological, and prognostic characteristics of combined hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-CC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). MATERIAL AND METHODS Medical records of 21 patients with cHCC-CC and 21 patients with HCC were retrospectively reviewed. Patients underwent a computed tomography (CT) examination within 1 month before surgery and did not receive preoperative interventional therapy. Clinical, imaging, pathological, and prognostic characteristics of cHCC-CC and HCC were compar...

ConclusionOur data indicate that CD147 promotes the malignant progression of CCA cells by activating the Akt-FoxO3-NF- κB-MCT-1/4 axis. As such, CD147 may serve as a possible target for advanced CCA treatment.

AbstractBackgroundAccurate risk stratification and patient selection is necessary to identify patients who will benefit the most from surgery or be better treated with  other non-surgical treatment strategies. We sought to identify which patients in the preoperative setting would likely derive the most or least benefit from resection of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC).MethodsPatients who underwent curative-intent resection for ICC between 1990 and 2017 were identified from an international multi-institutional database. A machine-based classification and regression tree (CART) was used to generate homogeneou...

However, an influence of LINC00261 on cholangiocarcinoma has a little research. There, we investigated clinical role and molecular mechanisms of LINC00261 in cholangiocarcinoma.MethodsThe qRT-PCR was performed for the detection of LINC00261 level in 50 paired specimens from CCA patients and six cell lines. Ce...
