The 46th Annual Wyoming Trauma & EMS Conference Begins Aug. 18

The Wyoming Trauma & EMS Conference is a three and a half day event providing a wide range of educational and training opportunities for multiple medical disciplines that provide, or may be called upon to provide, emergency medical treatment. The conference features day long workshops with a specific theme on the first day, and general and breakout sessions on the second, third and final day. An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) attending the conference has the opportunity to receive up to 24 hours of continuing education toward meeting the requirements of the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) recertification requirements. Typical course offerings provide education on the current evidence-based practices for the treatment of medical and traumatic problems, including cardiac and respiratory emergencies; chronic disease management; environmental emergencies; blunt and penetrating trauma; weapons of mass destruction; treatment of biological and chemical casualties; and many other topics. The full agenda for the 46th Annual Wyoming Trauma and EMS Conference, taking place Aug. 18-21 in Cheyenne, Wyo., is still being finalized. The Wyoming Office of EMS, which is part of the Wyoming Department of Health, has the ability to offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit acceptable to the National Registry of EMTs for all courses.
